Hello all!
This is Rigo. As we all lay to sleep in this AWESOME house I cannot help but think of the events that lead use here. As many of you know our team changed many times in just this last month, to thirty minutes before we left! The team changed due to many different reasons but I praise God for the students that were able to come on this trip. I had so many laughs on the way up here, and we had an awesome night of bonding! We are off to a great start! As you know we arrived at in Kentucky and tomorrow we will be visiting the Creation Museum. We are staying in a fantastic house (Pics will come tomorrow) that we all love except Beth Bunetto, she says it is from a horror movie because it is old. Many of you know that we also just came from a week of Church Camp where the students got to take time off of their busy schedule and focus on God. We had some amazing conversations and covered some hard topics. We will tie our Creation Museum experience to our lessons at camp. One of our topics was the Bible. Many of the students said that they believed in the Bible but when I asked if they thought it was historically accurate all of them disagreed. I asked if it is scientifically possible, they brought up accounts that they still question. I asked if they think it is out dated and they responded with a YES! So I asked, then what do you mean by you believe in the Bible? "Well it's real, true, and you go read it when you're down, and it teaches you about God." Somehow these answers do not make sense in my head. That is why I am excited for us to visit the Museum. Tomorrow we will be learning about how the Bible is TRUE! It is Historically accurate, science can back up the Bible, and it still matters today! Our kids are growing up in a world where truth is relative. What may be true to you may not be true to me. That HAS to be tough on them mentally and especially spiritually. I hope you're not reading too much into this.....I am not saying that this trip to the Creation Museum will fix these things but it is a step. The only way that the veils of their eyes will be lifted is by the Holy Spirit. Through your prayers, even though we are many miles away, the Holy Spirit can still work. Will you please pray that at least one major question will be answered tomorrow for all these students? Please pray that at the end of the day there will be one less hurtle of doubt in their minds? It is your prayers that we covet most of all. It is prayers that kept us safe through the nasty weather we encountered. The 'boys' car had to call the 'girls+Anakin' car to turn on their lights because we could not see them in front of us. God listened to your prayers today and he will listen tomorrow. Will you be faithful and continue to bring us before the throne? Thank you! Rigo |
